Alternative Housing, Community and Financial Freedom
We are mortgage-free because we chose alternative living.
In 2015 we purchased rural land and built a tiny home with cash, repurposed materials and hard work on weekends.
In 2024 at the end of a 30 month project plan, we downsized from our 2300 to our 300 square foot home. We moved across the county to a location that allowed us to be closer to nature and our values.
To do this we chose to: change our careers, sell our American Dream house and walk away from the expectations we had lived up to for 3 decades.
To build financial resilience we cultivated multiple income streams
We invested in ourselves
Resilience for the future comes from being diversified in the ways that we make money and in the ways we take care of ourselves and our community.
We changed everything about our lives in order to create a more-aligned future. We both changed who we work for. We sold our real estate and radically downsized. We took a permaculture design course and began thinking about wealth in a different way.
